Why Woolpower?
It is possible to produce functional garments in a sustainable and responsible way in Sweden. That is one of many reasons to choose Woolpower. And we are more than happy to share many more.
Responsible manufacturing
Our products are, and always will be, made with a focus on fair working conditions for everyone involved in producing them. They are designed with a timeless appearance and high durability, so you can enjoy using them year after year.
Sustainability is at the core of our business model. It is deeply rooted in our values and part of our company’s DNA. With the consumption patterns we have become used to in the Western world, it is easy to forget the work and the people behind the production of a garment. That is something we at Woolpower want to change.
We want to highlight the people who made your garment. In our factory in Östersund, all production takes place that leads to the warm, durable garment that becomes your companion on many adventures.
We are proof that it is possible to produce clothing in a sustainable and responsible way in Sweden.

Swedish production
Today, we work with three strong customer groups and are growing across all areas. Regardless of who wears our garments, one common factor is the increasing demand for functional clothing of high quality that is produced in a responsible way, where sustainability is essential, with consideration for people, animals, and nature.
This growing awareness and demand, combined with our strong belief in Swedish production, formed the foundation for our biggest investment ever: a brand-new textile factory in northern Sweden. In the spring of 2023, we inaugurated our new 11,000 m² factory in Östersund.
All under one roof
Here we knit, prepare, sew, pack, and store our products. All employees, whether they work in production or in an administrative role, work under the same roof and are part of the chain from yarn to finished garment. This creates great respect and understanding for the craftsmanship and complexity behind clothing production.
The seamstress’s name label, which is attached to every garment, is our way of highlighting our employees. Because it is a seamstress who has sewn your garment, from the first stitch to the last.

We are growing – and integration comes with it
During the 1960s and 70s, much of the Swedish textile industry disappeared as many brands moved their production from Sweden to low-cost countries. We were the exception, we stayed. It has worked very well, but the biggest challenge of being one of the few remaining manufacturers is that the professional skills we need have become increasingly rare.
In recent years, we have been fortunate to find many new employees with valuable expertise among people who have come to Sweden from countries where the textile industry is still strong.
Today we have nearly 300 employees and 22 nationalities working together in our factory. We hire based on competence, with secure employment as a natural foundation, and integration comes with it. Diversity makes us stronger.

Clothing for the future
It is our responsibility to speak honestly about the fact that far too many clothes are produced and consumed today. The truth is that the most sustainable garments are not new innovations, but the favorites you already have in your wardrobe—the ones that are worn until they are completely worn out.
Garments for generations
We often hear stories about Woolpower garments that have been passed down between generations, or that have been loved and worn until they fall apart. For us, this is proof that we are doing things right. Sustainability is part of our DNA. It runs through our production and product development, which often focuses on technical details at the fiber level to improve our garments so they can last even longer. Garments with a timeless design and high functionality never go out of style, no matter what trends come and go.
